About Lil' Lou Lou

Eclectic Blend of Vintage Styles

Lil' Lou Lou is an independent Southern California brand creating vintage-inspired clothing and accessories influenced by heritage, music, nostalgia, and storytelling. Founded in 2007 by designer, educator, and first-generation Mexican American creative Lily Gómez, the brand has grown from a small collection of handmade hair accessories into a thoughtfully curated line of apparel and accessories designed to be worn, reworn, and lived in.

While studying Apparel Merchandising and Management with an emphasis in Production at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, Lily began sewing vintage-inspired hair accessories to help pay for books and tuition. She sold her creations at local car shows and vintage events, where the encouragement of the rockabilly, pinup, and vintage communities helped shape the early years of Lil' Lou Lou.

Growing up in Southern California during the 1980s and 1990s, Lily found inspiration in many places. Her family's Mexican heritage introduced her to the music, films, and traditions of Mexico, while life in Southern California immersed her in oldies, rockabilly, classic Hollywood, new wave, alternative music, roadside Americana, Disney, and the creative revival scenes that surrounded her. Rather than choosing between those influences, she embraced them all.

That eclectic mix became the foundation of Lil' Lou Lou.

Every collection begins with a story. Some are inspired by family memories, others by music, travel, films, roadside attractions, or the landscapes of California and the Southwest. Collections such as Amorcito Corazón, or fabric names such as Mari Mar, and Californio celebrate the people, places, and experiences that continue to shape Lily's creative perspective.

Rather than recreating garments from the past, Lil' Lou Lou focuses on creating original designs inspired by the eras, stories, and craftsmanship that make vintage fashion so enduring. Each piece is designed from the ground up, blending timeless influences with Lily's own artistic voice to create something uniquely its own.

For Lily, vintage has never been simply a source of design inspiration. It has long been part of the way she experiences the world—from the music she listens to and the places she explores to the community she has been proud to be part of for many years. Those everyday experiences naturally find their way into every collection. Whether someone wears vintage every day or simply enjoys it on special occasions, Lil' Lou Lou celebrates the joy of discovering personal style and connecting with the stories that inspire us.

Today, Lily continues to run Lil' Lou Lou as an independent one-woman business, overseeing every aspect of the brand—from research and design to pattern development, production, photography, styling, marketing, and customer relationships. She also serves as a fashion educator in Southern California, encouraging the next generation of designers to develop both technical skills and confidence in their own creative voices.

More than a clothing brand, Lil' Lou Lou is an invitation to celebrate heritage, music, nostalgia, craftsmanship, and community through an eclectic blend of vintage styles.
