Jivin' Skirt – Morticia's Garden Green
Inspired by my love of jiving and the vibrant dance floors found at record hops and weekenders, the Jivin' Skirt was designed for movement, twirling, and a whole lot of fun.
First introduced at Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender in 2014, the Jivin' Skirt quickly became one of Lil' Lou Lou's signature designs. As someone who enjoys jiving myself, I wanted to create a skirt that looked just as beautiful in motion as it did standing still. With its full silhouette, deep pockets, and comfortable fit, the Jivin' Skirt was designed to spread beautifully across the dance floor while capturing the playful spirit of vintage-inspired fashion.
The Morticia's Garden print debuted during the Fall 2016 Dapper Day season. When I first discovered this fabric, I was immediately drawn to its romantic gothic charm. Delicate spider webs, graceful bats, blooming florals, and lace-inspired details came together to create a design that felt both spooky and elegant. The collection embodied the whimsical side of Halloween while remaining wearable long after the season had passed.
One of my favorite memories of Morticia's Garden is seeing it displayed in the Lil' Lou Lou booth during Dapper Day Expo. Looking back at those photographs now, they capture a special chapter in the evolution of the brand and the creative journey behind these early clothing collections.
Made in Los Angeles in a small production run, the Morticia's Garden Jivin' Skirt has long since sold out. The fabric is no longer available, making each surviving piece a rare part of Lil' Lou Lou history.
Lil' Lou Lou was created to be an eclectic blend of vintage styles—made to be worn, reworn, and lived in. Some designs may one day return from the vault, while others live on through the Lou Lou Dolls who continue to wear them, collect them, and occasionally pass them along to a new home.
If you happen to own a Morticia's Garden piece, consider yourself part of a small chapter of Lil' Lou Lou history.
