Melly Dress Classic Truck | Vintage Inspired Girls Dress

Named after my niece Melinda, the Melly Dress represents an important chapter in Lil' Lou Lou history.

After designing and sewing baby dresses for my Viva Las Vegas booth in 2010, I wanted to create something for little girls who had outgrown baby clothing. Inspired by my nieces and my love of vintage fashion, I began researching original 1950s children's clothing and set out to design a dress that captured the charm and sweetness of that era.

The Melly Dress became one of Lil' Lou Lou's signature children's designs and was professionally patterned with the help of talented members of the Los Angeles garment industry during my early years working in fashion production.

This Classic Truck version was introduced in 2014 as part of the Car Show Ready! Collection. Featuring a playful vintage truck print, it was inspired by classic car culture and the excitement of spending weekends at car shows with family and friends.

Made from 100% cotton, the Melly Dress features a sweet Peter Pan collar, decorative front pleats, and a semi-circle skirt designed for twirling. Back buttons and adjustable waist ties help create a comfortable fit while maintaining its vintage-inspired silhouette.
